Christmas is time for family and friends.  Unfortunately some people find themselves alone at this time of year.  Don't spend Christmas Day alone - The Diamond Valley Uniting Church is organising a Christmas lunch on
Christmas Day for people who may be on their own or at a loose end at
this time of year.

Eltham Town Report

10,486 surveys were distributed to families living in the Eltham Town shopping centre catchment area and over 970 were returned.

This makes the Eltham Town Survey the largest analysis of shoppers opinion to be undertaken locally.

The results of the survey were quite clear.  Key issues of concern identified by local residents are:

  • customer car parking;
  • ease of vehicle access and traffic flow around the complex;
  • the current haphazard nature of the layout of the centre and;
  • the diversity of shops in Eltham.

Many people held strong views on the Town Square and generally wanted to see:

  • an expanded Town Square with more comfortable seating and a greater community hub appeal;

  • cars to be removed from the immediate vicinity of the Town Square;

  • more trees, plants and general garden areas and;

  • a piazza style arrangement with cafes for alfresco dining. 

I am hopeful the results will help ensure future developments in Eltham are in keeping with the needs and wants of local residents.
